Wir könnten natürlich schreiben "wegen des großen Erfolges des Auftritts am vergangenen Samstag". Aber obwohl die Show ein absoluter Burner war, ist der wahre Grund in, sagen wir mal "menschlichem Versagen" zu suchen . . .
Jedenfalls ist ein zweiter Gig vonnöten, um technisch geeignetes Material für die DVD zu bekommen, die der Erstauflage von "Savage Souls" (VÖ: 20.02.2006) beiliegen wird.
Der Eintritt ist natürlich weiterhin frei!

"FUCK - Wir brauchen die Hilfe der MetalHeads!!! 
Am 17.12.2005 haben wir, die Band Mystic Prophecy, unsere Bonus-DVD aufgenommen. Diese DVD sollte den Fans als Bonus zur kommenden CD beigelegt werden. Es war ein wirklich geiler Abend und die Fans super gut drauf. Leider hat uns anscheinend die Seuche erwischt, und wir mussten feststellen, dass der gebuchte Soundman von der Technik der vorhandenen Gerätschaften NULL Ahnung hatte.Wir haben Filmmaterial, das sehr gut ist, aber wir haben keinen Ton für dieses Material!! Uns sind anfänglich zwei Möglichkeiten geblieben:
1) Wir verarschen die Fans, spielen im Studio alles noch einmal neu ein und tun so, als wäre es live.
2) Wir nehmen den schlechten Sound von der Videokamera, der gerade mal Bootleg-"Qualität" aufweist!
Das waren die Optionen bis gestern Abend. Dann haben wir eine Nacht über die Fakten geschlafen, und mit Hilfe der MATRIX Crew aus Bochum, haben wir die Möglichkeit bekommen, die ganze Show noch einmal zu starten!
Demnach werden wir am 07.01.2006 die Bühne der Matrix entern um die ganze Show noch einmal von vorne zu starten.
Wir brauchen dazu Eure Unterstützung, damit die Halle voll wir und wir eine ähnlich gute Stimmung hinzubekommen, wie sie am 17.12.2005 herrschte. Wir wollen niemanden mit dieser Aktion verarschen, verzichten auf jegliche Gagen und nehmen zudem erneut keinen Eintritt. Wir können nur auf den Support von Euch Fans hoffen.
Weiterhin müssen wir erwähnen, dass auch God's Army unter dem Verlust der Sounddaten zu leiden haben. Die Jungs haben sich ebenfalls den Hintern aufgerissen und bekommen nicht das, was ihnen versprochen wurde: eine professionelle DVD Aufnahme.
Aus diesem Grund werden uns God's Army am 07.01.2006 erneut supporten, damit auch diese Band das bekommt, was ihr zusteht!"

SACRED STEEL - Line-Up Change

Nach fast zehn Jahren im selben Line-Up hat bei SACRED STEEL ein Besetzungswechsel stattgefunden. Wie sich intern bereits seit längerer Zeit abzeichnete, haben Jörg M. Knittel (git) und Oliver Großhans (git) beschlossen, sich künftig voll und ganz auf ihre anderen Bands MY DARKEST HATE (beide) und DAWN OF WINTER (Knittel) zu konzentrieren. Jörg und Oli sehen ihre musikalischen Visionen inzwischen eher dort verwirklicht.
Als Retrospektive auf die ersten 10 Jahre SACRED STEEL wird am 27.01.2006 die Live CD-/DVD "Live Blessings" veröffentlicht. Enthalten ist unter anderem eine komplette Live-Show aus Ludwigsburg und umfangreiches Bonus-Material aus der kompletten Band-History.
Die verbliebenen 3 Ur-Mitglieder Gerrit P. Mutz (voc), Jens Sonnenberg (bass) und Mathias Straub (dr) haben schließlich beschlossen unter dem SACRED STEEL Banner weiterzumachen. Jens wechselte vom Bass auf die Gitarre. Als neue Mitglieder konnten Jonas Khalil (git) und Kai Schindelar (bass) verpflichtet werden. Jonas ist SACRED STEEL Fan der ersten Stunde und bereits seit Jahren als Gitarren-Techniker für SACRED STEEL tätig gewesen. Mit Kai, der ebenfalls noch bei LANFEAR aktiv ist, stieß noch ein absoluter Metal-Maniac am Bass zur Band. Mit Hochdruck feilt das Quintett bereits an Songs für das neue Album "Hammer Of Destruction", welches eine Rückkehr zum lupenreinen Power-Thrash-Speed-Metal im Stile alter US-Legenden wie Agent Steel oder Omen markieren wird.
ENGLISH VERSION
After having had a stable line up for now nearly 10 years, a line up change had to be made in the SACRED STEEL camp. It came not totally out of the blue when Jörg M. Knittel (git) and Oliver Großhans (git) finally decided to call it quits and to concentrate on their other bands MY DARKEST HATE (both) and DAWN OF WINTER (Knittel). Both, Jörg and Oli are sure that their musical visions are nowadays better portrayed in these outfits.
As a retrospective on this ancient and memorable line-up a live CD+DVD called “Live Blessings” will be released via Massacre Records on the 27th of January 2006. The main feature will be a complete gig from October 2004 in Ludwigsburg. As bonus there will be included some live impressions from past gigs as well as some funny episodes some may wish they hadn´t been shown to anybody…ever! The remaining sacred warriors - Gerrit P. Mutz (vox), Jens Sonnenberg (bass / switched to guitar in the recent line-up) and Mathias Straub (drums) have now decided to continue under the banner of SACRED STEEL with the best wishes and blessings from both, Oli and Jörg. New members to help them on their conquest for world domination are Jonas Khalil (git) and Kai Schindelar (bass). Both are absolute metal maniacs! Just ask them about their fave bands next time you meet them at the KIT or another great metal party. Jonas is a dedicated SACRED STEEL fan since the start in 1996 and has worked for the band as a guitar technician up to now. Some may know Kai from his other band LANFEAR where he´s also handling the bass duties. Welcome on board, friends! The new line up is already working hard on their next effort which will tentatively be entitled “Hammer Of Destruction” and feature tracks such as “Where Demons Dare To Tread”, “Impaled By Metal”, Children Of The Spirit, “Pounding Inferno” or “Hell Insanity”.
This album will not only be a turning point for the band because of the enthusiastic new line up…It will also mark the return to the total worship of 80´s mostly US Metal inspired POWER (!) METAL (!!) (in the meaning of the word…not what Power Metal is referred to nowadays) the band has been respected as well as hated for since the birth of STEEL itself, nearly 10 years ago.

The americans Solace of Requiem come from Virginia beach, Virginia and play technical very high leveled death metal in 1990s style. One can hardly believe that the band just consists of three members, because they achieve to give the impression of a five or six men combo that reads the Riot Act. In the moment the band is still working on new songs for their upcoming album next year and playing on several of Americas most famouse festivals.

SPIRITUS MORTIS
The first band in Finland to be called as a DOOM act is SPIRITUS MORTIS. Formed in late summer of 1987 their unique sound can be heard from the very early demos: growling bass, massive guitars and viciously thundering drums. Cult following was gained by reviews of demos and furious gigs… Their self-titled debut album was released in January 2004 on the now defunct Rage Of Achilles label and fell like a dark day with icy rain onto the doom metal community…
TUNDRA
THUNDRA was formed as a project of Harald (ex-Enslaved), Stein (ex-Einherjer) and Nils (synth) in 1998. Their first album “Blood of your soul" was released in 2001 on Spinefarm records to a general applause. After leaving Spinefarm and a 3-track demo the band start working really hard on a new album. The result is “Worshiped By Chaos”, a work totally different than the debut, much darker, more complex, more extreme with a killer sound courtesy of their own Black Dimension Studio. THUNDRA have just inked a deal with Black Lotus Records for the worldwide release of this killer masterpiece set for February 2006. Expect a high quality extreme album from Norway’s best-hidden secret!

FIREBALL MINISTRY – Veröffentlichen „Their Rock Is Not Our Rock“!
Man munkelt, dass FIREBALL MINISTRY die Fackel des Rock’n’Roll vor sich her tragen und wie „Their Rock Is Not Our Rock” (VÖ 30. Januar 2006) beweist, schaffen es die L.A. Puristen diese Flamme mit jedem Powerchord neu zu entfachen.
„King“, einer der herausragenden Songs auf ihrem zweiten Album „The Second Great Awakening” (2003), wurde von Bam Margera - hauptberuflich Skater bei Jackass/Viva La Bam - für die „Viva La Bands” Compilation ausgewählt. 2004 tourte die Band mit Dio und Anthrax durch die Staaten, während sie Europa mit Blue Oyster Cult, Uriah Heep und CKY beackerten und sich viele neue Fans machten. Im darauf folgenden Jahr ging die Band zu Dave Grohl in dessen Studio 606 West, Produzent war erneut Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver, Queens of the Stone Age) und abgemischt hat das ganze Mike Terry (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Ash, Halford).
Das Ergebnis „Their Rock Is Not Our Rock” (mit dem neuen Bassisten Johny Chow, ex-Systematic) beschreibt genau den typischen FIREBALL MINISTRY Sound: Stampfende Riffs, treibende Rhythmen, schöne Harmonien, eingängige Refrains und ein klassisches Rock-Feeling. Wann immer die „First Church Of Rock’N’Roll” ihre Predigt abhält klingt der Nachhall mindestens genauso laut wie ihre Verstärker.
In den letzten drei Monaten hat die Band die USA rauf und runter getourt - eine fünfwöchige, nationale Tour zusammen mit CKY, danach drei Wochen mit NEVERMORE, Opeth und Pelican (abhängig vom Markt), danach drei weitere Wochen wieder mit CKY und in diesem Moment haben noch eine weitere Woche mit H.I.M., Skindred und Finch vor sich. Letztere ist die „Viva La Bands“ Tour, welche mit der Compilation verbunden ist, die in diesem Jahr erschienen ist.
Jim Rota (guitars/vocals) kann es kaum erwarten bis „Their Rock Is Not Our Rock” für die europäischen Fans erhältlich ist: „Wir sind heiß darauf, dass das Album endlich Europa erreicht. Auf dem Kontinent, von dem alles abstammt, möchten wir endlich eine Schippe drauflegen. Auf der europäischen Pressung von „Their Rock Is Not Our Rock” gibt es den Video-Clip zu „Sundown“ als Bonus.“ Rota selbst beschreibt es als „klassisches Rockvideo, das aber in keiner Weise ironisch gemeint ist.“

DARK FORTRESS – Debutierten mit „Séance“ bei Century Media Records!
Century Media Records ist sehr stolz, mit den deutschen Black Metal Hoffnungsträgern DARK FORTRESS sein neuestes Signing zu präsentieren! DARK FORTRESS werden mit ihrem vierten Album „Séance“ am 30. Januar 2006 ihr Century Media Debut veröffentlichen.
1994 gegründet, haben sich DARK FORTRESS durch fesselnde, intensive Liveshows und faszinierende, rabenschwarze Meisterwerke selbst in der Spitze der Szene etabliert und erreichen den vorwiegend in der nordeuropäischen Szene geschaffenen Standard mit Leichtigkeit.
Nachdem man ein selbst finanziertes Demo Tape, eine mittlerweile sehr rare MCD auf dem kleinen Black Metal Label Fog Of The Apocalypse und zwei fantastische Alben beim amerikanischen Underground Label Red Stream Records veröffentlichte, manifestierte ihr Album „Stab Wounds“ (2004) die Reputation in der Underground Szene und etablierte den Namen DARK FORTRESS in den wichtigen Metal Medien. Als gutes Beispiel sei das deutsche Rock Hard Magazin genannt, das DARK FORTRESS folgendes bescheinigt: „zu gut, zu originell und zu heavy, um ignoriert zu werden. Einfach das beste, was der deutsche Black Metal zu bieten hat!“.
„Séance“ ist der nächste Schritt in die richtige Richtung, um DARK FORTRESS nicht nur als eine der hoffnungsvollsten deutschen Black Metal Bands, sondern auch als eine Band, die den internationalen Vergleich nicht fürchten muss, zu etablieren. Einmal mehr von einem großartigen Artwork von Travis Smith (Nevermore, Katatonia, Opeth, etc) veredelt, entfaltet sich das Album um eine konzeptionelle Idee des direkten Kontrastes zwischen dem „hier und jetzt“ und dem „danach“, die Zerbrechlichkeit der menschlichen Existenz mit seiner unabwendbaren Schwächen – Ignoranz, Arroganz und falschen Illusionen – und der groben Endgültigkeit des Todes. Das zentrale textliche Motiv von „Séance“ wagt es, die stereotypen, von Klischees geprägten Black Metal Pfade zu verlassen und sich stattdessen mit der Idee von paranormalen Wesen und ihrer individuellen Erfahrungen zu beschäftigen, auf die sich im Verlauf des Albums der Fokus richtet.
Die musikalische Seite unterstützt dieses Konzept mit majestätischen, finsteren Gitarrenmelodien, vertrackten und morbiden Passagen, ultimativ düsteren Vocals und einer Menge an Ideenreichtum, die in diesem Genre heute kaum noch zu finden ist.

CRONIAN
Mit Stolz dürfen wir verkünden, dass CRONIAN nun offiziell einen weltweiten Deal über drei Alben bei Century Media Records unterschrieben haben.
CRONIAN ist ein Duo, bestehend aus Vintersorg und Øystein G. Brun. Bereits 1999 hatten wir Pläne für ein gemeinsames Projekt, das neben den bereits bestehenden Bands wie Vintersorg und Borknagar laufen sollte. Schon seit Jahren spukte die Idee in unseren Köpfen herum, aber erst 2002 fingen wir mit der Umsetzung unseres musikalischen Ziels an, damals noch unter dem Namen Ion. Wir hatten eine stille Übereinkunft, dass wir lediglich mit der Band fortfahren würden, wenn wir einen einmaligen und originellen Sound erschaffen könnten. Der Sound war geboren und ist nun reif, der ganzen Welt vorgestellt zu werden... Das Debut-Album wird voraussichtlich im Frühjahr 2006 veröffentlicht. Ein genauer Termin wird noch frühzeitig bekannt gegeben. Der Albumtitel lautet "Terra" und 9 Songs werden unser Erstlingswerk repräsentieren. Einige Titel möchten wir bereits nennen: "Cronian", "The Alp", "Iceolated" und "Nonexistence". Die Natur unserer musikalischen Schöpfung ist kalt, gruselig atmosphärisch und sehr catchy. Also, nehmt Euch in Acht!

Das neue Drum-Monster heißt Mark Cross (x – Helloween, x- Metalium)!! Obwohl Mark 50 % deutsch und 50 % britisch ist, lebt er seit mehreren Jahren in Griechenland. Das macht das Proben und die Vorbereitungen erheblich leichter.“

Die Band ist momentan in der Vorproduktionsphase und hat 8 Songs fertig geschrieben. Das neue Album soll Anfang 2006 aufgenommen werden und FIREWIND haben vor, ihr Livedebut mit dem neuen Line-Up beim Prog Power UK Festival am 25. März 2006 zu geben.

Seduced by Suicide - New song and audition at Gothik Night
Seduced by Suicide, gothic rock band formed by Earth (Blood Tears - doom metal) is finishing the records of the MCD Gothic Dream and is now making available for download one of the new songs, "The Death of My Life", with the MCD's artwork and the full booklet on the band's website.
Meanwhile, some events are being booked to make the release of this album. A little preview could be saw last friday, November 11st, on "Gothik Night - 4 Years", where one of the new songs were played by the DJs. Some local bands also played there like Desolate Ways, Aire'N Terre, Supermozart and others, besides of Ruins Matador (Slovenia).

ORPHANED LAND – Keyboarder verlässt die Band, Kobi gibt persönliches Update!
Es gibt eine Menge aus dem ORPHANED LAND Camp zu berichten! Neben der guten News, dass es von Seiten der treuen Fanbase massive Aktivitäten gibt (für Details einfach weiter lesen!), gibt es leider auch eine schlechte Nachricht: Keyboarder Eden Rabin hat die Band verlassen. Sänger Kobi Farhis Statement diesbezüglich:
„Hallo Leute, ich wollte Euch wissen lassen, dass Eden Rabin (Keyboard) die Band verlassen hat, wir sind immer noch Freunde und hat seine persönlichen Gründe für diesen Schritt. Wir freuen uns immer noch an neuem Material zu arbeiten und bereiten uns für die Touren und Festivals 2006 vor.“

RAWHEAD REXX arbeiten an neuem Album
Die süddeutschen Metaller RAWHEAD REXX befinden sich derzeit im Studio und arbeiten dort an dem Nachfolger ihres letzten Albums „Diary in black“. Die Songwriting-Phase war bis dato äußerst produktiv: Rund 30 Songs stehen bereits zur Auswahl. Das Material, so Sänger Jürgen Volk, orientiere sich stilistisch wieder stärker am Debüt der Band, das 2002 erschien und nicht nur mit der Indizierung des blutigen Cover-Artworks für Aufsehen sorgte, sondern auch und vor allem mit ganz und gar undeutschem, rauhen und energischem Power Metal. Nachdem Drummer Dany Löble die Band im vergangenen Jahr verlassen hat und bei HELLOWEEN eingestiegen ist, greifen Volk und sein Mitstreiter Face bei den Studioaufnahmen auf einen Session-Schlagzeuger zurück. Das noch unbetitelte Album erscheint voraussichtlich im Sommer 2006.

VOIVOD guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour passed away Friday night (August 26) at approximately 11:45 p.m. due to complications from advanced colon cancer — so advanced that the disease had spread to his liver. D'Amour slipped into a coma Thursday night and died less than 24 hours later in the palliative care unit of a Montreal hospital, surrounded by family and friends. He was 45 years old.
Quebec City newspaper Le Soleil reported yesterday that D'Amour — who was diagnosed with colon cancer earlier in the summer — first entered the hospital for a routine operation, but several complications led his doctors to suspect more problems. Then the grim verdict was revealed: the cancer, already too advanced, was inoperable.
Only two months ago, D'Amour was in the studio working on the 14th album from the Canadian thrash-metal pioneers VOIVOD. More than two dozen tracks are believed to have been demoed for the CD, for which the group recently inked a deal with The End Records. However, the band were forced to put studio work on hold while bassist Jason Newsted (ex-METALLICA) was treated for tendonitis.
In a recent interview with Billboard.com, Newsted spoke about the material slated to appear on the group's next CD. "It's the most complete demos I've ever been involved in," he said. "[VOIVOD singer] Snake has already chosen his effects — exact timing of milliseconds for delay. We've had a long time to develop the demos, so there's about 23 or 25 songs that are absolutely listenable right now."
Newsted was a huge fan of VOIVOD before he was invited to join and he remains a great admirer to this day. "They created something a long, long time ago that may have been emulated many, many times since — but nobody can do it like the original," he offered.
Prior to his hospitalization, D'Amour laid down guitar tracks for a reunion CD from the legendary AUT'CHOSE, a '70s band from Montreal. That album is expected to surface next summer.

We at Metal Blade have just learned the shocking news that former VADER Drummer Kyzysztof "DOC" Raczkowski has passed away at the age of 35. Doc was not only one of the best drummers in Death Metal history, but also a very nice and polite person. He will surely be missed.
The Metal Blade staff send their condolences to Doc's friends and family. Rest in peace!

Am 19. September 2005 werden Century Media Records GOD FORBIDs viertes full-length Album “IV: Constitution of Treason” veröffentlichen. Produziert von Jason Suecof (u.a. Trivium) und Eric Rachel (u.a. Atreyu, Dillinger Escape Plan) präsentiert das Album – eine sozial und politisch geladene Vision einer post-apokalyptischen Welt – die unglaubliche Kreativität und das Talent einer der besten Metal-Bands der heutigen Zeit.
Lead Gitarrist Doc Coyle kommentiert das sehnsüchtig erwartete Werk:
“Ich bin verdammt heiß drauf, unseren Fans, neue und alte, einen Höreindruck dieses Albums zu geben. Es ist ein Riesenschritt für GOD FORBID und ich fühle, dass dies unsere abwechslungsreichste, tiefgängigste und emotionalste Platte geworden ist, ohne jedoch jegliche Einbußen in punkto Brutalität und künstlerischer Identität vermelden zu müssen. At the 29th of October the 6th Heavy Metal Maniacs festival will be held. This year it will be the 25th birthday party of the NWoBHM. Out of this movement came a lot of bands who became an inspiration for many other bands (for example Metallica to name one).
Holland was one of the countries where the English bands had a lot of success. Some bands even played more in Holland than in the UK. Reasons enough to organise a NWoBHM festival in Holland. Beside 4 original NWoBHM bands we have added 1 young UK band who play in the same vein and two Dutch bands who were also around in the early 80s and can be described as New Wave of Dutch Heavy Metal.

ARCH ENEMYs neuestes Werk “Doomsday Machine” ist fertig! Also, noch ein letztes Mal tief durchatmen, denn am 22. August 2005 (VÖ Europa) wird die Metal-Welt nicht mehr dieselbe sein. ARCH ENEMY’s sechstes Studio-Album ist wahrscheinlich das intensivste und faszinierendste Werk in der gesamten Bandgeschichte.
Um Euch die Wartezeit auf das am 22. August 2005 erscheinende neue ARCH ENEMY Studioalbum „Doomsday Machine“ zu erleichtern haben wir die knallharte Erstauskopplung “Nemesis” hier zur Verfügung gestellt. Geboten wird klassischer ARCH ENEMY Sound der einen guten Ersteindruck von der Aggressivität des neuen Albums gibt. Ein Video zu dem Track wird im Laufe dieser Woche mit Regisseur George Bravo entstehen, der auch schon beim “We Will Rise” Clip mit der Band erfolgreich zusammengearbeitet hat.

“Ich verbrachte die letzten Tage in Andy Sneaps Studio in England, um die letzten Feinarbeiten am Album abzuschließen – das Teil ist nun gemixt und gemastered und bereit an unsere Labels geschickt zu werden…endlich! Ja, ich weiß, es hat länger gedauert als erwartet, aber wenn ich es mir jetzt anhöre… Es ist so ein großer Fortschritt für uns – in jeder Hinsicht. Ich bin begeistert von den Songs, der Produktion und dem ÜBER-METAL Feeling dieses neuen Albums!!! Es war die Menge harter Arbeit definitiv wert! “
Songs wie das wuchtige Hookline-Monster “Nemesis”, das auch der Song zum ersten Videoclip ist, das stampfende “I Am Legend / Out For Blood“ oder das mächtige “Carry The Cross“ sind Beweis genug, dass diese Band geradewegs in eine neue Dimension marschiert und dabei sämtliche Grenzen niederreißt. Ein wirklich majestätisches Stück extremer Metal-Kunst. Das ebenso beeindruckende Cover der Scheibe wurde von dem viel gelobten Künstler Joachim Luetke (u.a. Dimmu Borgir, Destruction) kreiert, und scheint auch Michael sehr zu gefallen:
“Wir sind alle super zufrieden mit dem neuen Album-Cover! Ich hatte ein paar Ideen, die ich telefonisch mit Joachim bequatschte und nachdem er einige Entwürfe rübergeschickt hatte, hat es uns schlicht und einfach umgehauen. Wenn man mit Kreativköpfen dieses Kalibers zusammenarbeitet, lässt du sie am Besten machen, was sie wollen, also taten wir das. Er erweiterte das Konzept von ‘Doomsday Machine’ und führte es zu einigen sehr interessanten, wenngleich auch sehr düsteren Orten. Es ist einfach großartig, wenn das Artwork absolut mit der Musik harmoniert. “

ARCH ENEMY: The new album entitled "Doomsday Machine" is completed! Take a deep breath: On August 22nd 2005 (European release date) the mighty metal universe will never be the same again. The sixth studio album of ARCH ENEMY is probably the most intense and interesting piece of work they have assembled in their career so far.
To ease the long time of waiting for the new ARCH ENEMY studio record “Doomsday Machine”, to be released August 22nd 2005, the album’s blistering lead off single, “Nemesis,” has just been posted here. It features the classic, renowned ARCH ENEMY sound and gives a strong indication as to just how aggressive this new effort truly is. A video for the track will be shot this week with director George Bravo, who previously worked with the band on their “We Will Rise” video.
Guitarist & songwriter Michael Amott comments:
“I was at Andy Sneap’s studio in England these last few days and we put the final touches to the album – it is now mixed and mastered and ready to be delivered to our record labels…finally! Yes, it took longer than we anticipated, but listening to it now…it’s such a big step up for us – on every level. I am excited about the songs, the production and overall ÜBER-METAL feel of this new album!!! It’s definitely been worth all the hard work!”
Songs such as the massive hookline-monster “Nemesis”, which will also be the first video-clip, the pounding “I Am Legend / Out For Blood” or the mighty “Carry The Cross” prove that this band is marching onwards into a new dimension, smashing all boundaries . A majestic piece of extreme Metal art. The disc’s striking cover art was done by acclaimed artist Joachim Luetke (Dimmu Borgir, Destruction, etc.). Michael adds:
“We are all extremely pleased with the artwork for the new album! I had a few ideas initially that I discussed with Joachim on the phone, and when he started sending over images, we were seriously blown away. When you work with creative people of this caliber, you just let them do what they do, so we just let him get on with it. He’s a very productive guy, very sharp. He expanded on the ‘Doomsday Machine’ concept and took it to some really interesting (albeit very dark) places. It’s one of those great situations when the artwork totally works with the music.”
Right now the band is preparing for the mighty Ozzfest tour taking place from July 15th – September 4th all over North America. Neue Alben werfen ihre Schatten voraus…
So erscheint am 04.07. "Beat Me" (Demolition/Soulfood) der Japaner ELECTRIC EEL SHOCK die nicht nur in Sachen Produktion (Wisselord Studdios) einen drauf setzen sondern es auch ansonsten ordentlich krachen lassen.
Auch FLOTSAM & JETSAM veröffentlichen am 22.08. ihr neues Werk "Dreams Of Death" (Crash Music Inc./ZYX) und ja, die Besetzung ist noch komplett! Die US-Boys sind ganz heiß drauf endlich auch wieder live zu spielen und Interviews zu geben.

NEVERMORE - “Final Product” MP3 online, video clip recordings!
Aufgrund der Veröffentlichung ihres Meisterwerks "This Godless Endeavor" am 25. Juli drehten NEVERMORE letztes Wochenende das Video zum Song "Final Product". Sänger Warrel Dane kommentierte den Videodreh und das zugrundeliegende Konzept folgendermaßen: "Wir drehten letzten Samstag mit Director Kevin Leonard (Himsa, Diecast) das Video zu "Final Product" und es war der Hammer! Er kam mit einem großartigen Konzept zu uns, das den Vibe des Songs perfekt einfängt. Jede Menge wahnsinnige Live Shots und eine brilliante Performance des Darstellers Bob Jones. Dieser spielt einen angsteinflössenden Charakter, der von den dunklen Saaten aus den Texten besessen ist. Das Video ist großartig und wir sind alles verdammt froh wieder mit Kevin zusammenzuarbeiten."

Auf die Frage nach den anstehenden Aktivitäten in den nächsten Wochen antwortet Warrel: "Zunächst stehen einige Proben für Festival Dates in Europa an und danach die Gigantour. Wir werden drei rotierende Sets auf der Gigantour spielen. So haben die Fans, die mehr als eine Show von uns sehen, die Möglichkeit unterschiedliche Songs zuhören. Auf diese Art und Weise sind wir perfekt auf unsere europäische Headliner Tour vorbereitet, die sofort im Anschluß beginnt. "This Godless Endeavor" wurde in England mit dem gefeierten Produzenten Andy Sneap (Machine Head, Arch Enemy) aufgenommen, der vor kurzem noch ihr Album "Enemies Of Reality" aus dem Jahre 2003 re-mixed und re-mastered hat. Die Gigantour, bei der unter anderem Megadeth, Dream Theater, Fear Factory, The Dillinger Escape Plan und Life Of Agony spielen, wird von Ende Juli bis September quer durch Nordamerika reisen. NEVERMORE: Preparing for the July 25th release of their magnum opus “This Godless Endeavor”, Seattle’s NEVERMORE filmed the video for “Final Product” in Los Angeles this past weekend. Vocalist Warrel Dane commented: “We shot the video last Saturday for ‘Final Product’ with director Kevin Leonard (Himsa, Diecast), and it was a blast. He came up with a great concept, capturing the vibe of the song perfectly. Lots of manic live band shots and a brilliant performance by an actor named Bob Jones, who played a creepy character obsessed by the dreaded black seeds referred to in the lyrics. It’s going to be one hell of a video, and we were all really happy to be working with Kevin again.”

When asked what is the band will be doing in the forthcoming weeks, Warrel added: “Next step, some rehearsals for festival dates in Europe and then Gigantour. We’ll be playing three rotating sets on Gigantour, so fans going to more than one show will get to hear different songs. This way we’ll be fully prepared for our European headlining tour that starts immediately afterwards. Plans are in the works for another U.S. tour, but nothing is confirmed as of yet.
